⏰ What moment in your life would you never want to go back?

For me: When I had no options and no power in life.

📚 It happened when I was still an undergraduate,

I got injured and needed to see a doctor and possibly do some scans for my bones.

📕 During that time, my parents were retired and did not have any medical insurance for me.

There were only 2 choices:

Go to public hospital at a very affordable price

Go private but it costs at least HK$3,000 to do consultation + scans + medicine

▶ I had no option but to go to a public hospital because

▶ I did not want to waste my parents’ money

▶ I could not afford private as a student

▶ I did not really have any option.

⭕ The feeling of not being able to afford something and the feeling of having no choice sucked.

⭐ Even though the medical staff were nice and friendly at a public hospital, the entrance was filled with a lot of patients with more serious cases than I did.

The wait was terrible.

I remember waiting there for 5 hours (no joke).

🥐 I did not dare to leave the hospital for a meal or have a walk around because I was worried that when they called my name, I would miss my turn.

💭 That was the moment I thought to myself that

I need to work hard in the future to make money so I have the option and freedom in life to choose to pay for a private clinic and skip the 5 hours’ wait.

💡 Same as financial freedom, I believe the goal of reaching financial freedom is not to retire but to have more options in life.

💡 It could be picking a more fulfilling job even though it might pay less.

💡 It could be taking more risks in your career because you have a stronger financial cushion.

💡 For me, it also gives me the benefits to buy back my time.

Time and freedom are the most important items to me.
