📌 I am not as irreplaceable and competitive as I thought!

This week was hectic with 2 quick stories to share:

✏ Story 1:

With a slow market, I have to make a lot of BD (Business Development) calls to clients to see if they have any hiring needs

When one client picked up, he said I was the 10th recruiter who called him this week…

📆 But I was like “Isn’t it only Tuesday today?”

💫 Lesson Learnt 1:

Just because I think I am hardworking does not really mean I am….compared to others. Facts/Figures speak – I am the 10th in the game.

There are many other hardworking talents out there in this tough market.

I am sure this level of fierce competition also applies to other industries as well

⭐ ⭐ Conclusion: I need to level up my game – The strongest survives!

✏ Story 2:

My candidate resigned 2 weeks ago.

I called the HR and CEO to check if I can work on the replacement.

They replied that they already had 3 candidates going for final round this week just within 2 weeks.........

💫 Lesson Learnt 2: We are replaceable quickly especially during a down market.

In a down market, employers have a higher bargaining power and can pick any good candidates they want at a lower price.

It's a buyer's market.

The same applies for investment – Properties/Luxury Products and etc

Property prices are starting to fall, if you have enough capital, it might be a good time to start looking for bargain deals.

⭐⭐Conclusion:

I need to work smart and OT again haha

A down market benefits the wealthiest or those with strong buying/bargaining power as they can buy products at a more affordable rate.
