šŸš• HK Taxi Driver fought with the passenger for a HK$40 ride (USD 5 Dollar)

What went viral recently in the HK news was that a passenger and taxi driver got into a physical fight

The taxi driver lined up for 2 hours and got MAD when he picked up a passenger requesting for a HK$40 rideĀ

(aka the ride was too short)Ā

āš–ļø Right or Wrong?

In sales, there were many days in my recruitment life when I made hundreds of calls/email and heard NOTHING

Especially during bad times like this

ā˜Žļø when I received a client call, no matter how big or small the fee was, I would be grateful

During bad times:

āœļø Having better service + personal branding were even more important because each dollar counts

In HK, the half day taxi rent is about HK$400

To break even, that taxi driver had to do 10 x of HK$40 rides in 8 hoursĀ

šŸ’° That $40 ride would take 10 minutesĀ

So he can make at least 2 - 3 more trips in that remaining 50 minutes

šŸ“ˆ And try to max out again his revenue in the remaining 5 hours

I can sense and understand a lot of negativity, anger and frustration in the market because times were tough

ā˜” Having a strong EQ, learning to be grateful and staying optimistic during this market is important

Most importantly, donā€™t take things personally when people treated you badly but it was not your problem at all

šŸ’Ŗ On the other hand, let's give each other mental support when they need it the most too!

I have seen some candidates vented their angry and negative emotions onto the recruiters or treated the recruiters with disrespect after they were laid off when the recruiters had nothing to do with it

šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø I learn to maintain my EQ by diversifying my emotions into different pillars

Work /Hobby /Family /Friends /RelationshipĀ

Therefore, I am gratefulĀ

āœØ when I hear from my clients/candidates that they want to hire (no matter what location)

āœØ when I can still work and contribute to the society

āœØ when I get to spend quality time with my family and friends

āœØ when my tenant pays me rent / I still receive dividend regularly

This keeps me sane during a challenging market and I hope this method can help you as well!
