💡💡Does the perfect job exist❓❓ Where to find it❓

Many people reached out to me and wanted me to find a perfect job for them.

But what is a perfect job?

🔴 High Salary?

🔴 Unlimited annual leaves?

🔴 Work from home flexibility?

🔴 Fun culture?

🔴 Good pension?

If such a job exists combining all the benefits, I believe the competition will be high and the chances of landing such a job would be low.

Correct me if I were wrong but I do not believe there is a “perfect” job.

Similar to dating, there is no “perfect” partner. I don’t think “The Perfect One” exist.

There is always opportunity cost in each choice.

🟠 However, I believe in finding the most compatible career/job.

🟠 I believe in finding the most compatible partner.

In this way, you can have a sustainable, passionate and long term relationship with your career/job/partner. I often observe the most successful people are usually “the last man standing”. (Another article on this next time)

A right job is different for everyone.

🟢 For some, it is pursuing a sense of achievement.

🟢 For some, it could be money or status or power.

🟢 For others, it could be work life balance or flexible arrangement.

So how do you find the right match?

Finding the right job requires you to

💌❤️First: Identify your top 3 values

You need to be able to rank out the priorities in your life.

They tend to change as you enter into different life stages.

The reason why many people are frustrated with their job selection is because they do not know their life priorities. It would be great for you to take some time after work to reflect where you want to go in the future.

Do you know what you want to achieve in 5 years/10 years/20 years?

Once you find out, we can work together easily from your destination.

💌 ❤️Second: Have a realistic view of the market and go for jobs that align with your values

For example, I am a big fan of reading printed books instead of digital books.

However, I need to be realistic that physical book stores are being replaced by e-books.

My childhood dream of opening a physical book store is no longer realistic.

Hence, I needed to pivot and look for job opportunities that fit my value of sense of achievement and contributing to the society/education which is my current job as a recruiter, speaker and career coach!

✅ How do you rank your values?
