📚 Always choose in person interviews rather than VIRTUAL

I always get frustrated when my candidates ask if they can attend my clients’ interviews via video calls

📝 First - it shows a lack of interest and effort

(Of course I understand there are different commitments and also if the clients happen to have multiple rounds of interviews - but we are talking about increasing our chances here!

⏰ Back in my days, I had 7 rounds of interviews with Citi and I attended them all in person… Same for Michael Page, when I had 5 rounds, they were all done in person)

Second - attending an in person interview actually increases your chances of landing your dream job!

Why?

📊 If you apply directly to a job without a recruiter or referral, you tend to have less information compared to others

Therefore, you need to increase your chance of winning by attending the interview in person to leave a good impression!

📮 Here is a tip:

When your interviewer enter the room, always stand up, shake hands and EXCHANGE NAME CARDS

1st - You will get the contact info of your interviewer

2nd - You can send them a thank you email after the interview

3rd - You can keep their contact for future uses - They might hire you if there is a new headcount

🎁 Always find ways to do things differently from others

🎁 That will give you an edge

💡 How often do you attend interviews in person or virtual?
